PBS, Malta’s national broadcaster, yesterday revealed more details about MESC 2025 (Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025).
MESC 2025 will be used to select Malta’s entry for the 69th Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Basel, Switzerland, next May. Specifically, the deadline for the submission of songs will open on November 18, 2024 and with a deadline of eleven days, that is until November 29, 2024.
The conditions for participation! Artists submitting entries for MESC 2025 must be Maltese citizens, In case the dossier contains more than one person, then the lead singer must be a Maltese citizen, MESC 2024 winner Sarah Bonnici is ineligible for the 2025 competition as a lead artist, Songwriters and composers can be of any nationality, Artists can participate with more songs, without limitation, Songs must not have been released or performed before November 30, 2024. The dates of MESC 2025!
Upon completion of the song submission deadline, a panel of judges will evaluate all entries received. A total of 24 songs will be selected to compete in two semi-finals on February 4 and 6, 2025. In each semi-final, a combination of jury and audience voting will select eight songs, which will advance to the Grand Final!
The MESC 2025 final will take place on February 8, 2025 and will include 16 songs. Here again, a combination of jury and public vote will decide the winner and thus Malta’s representative for Basel!
