Finnish government-owned betting agency Veikkaus has officially become the NHL’s partner in Finland, enhancing its offerings with comprehensive NHL content across its platforms. This new agreement significantly expands Veikkaus’ existing ice hockey content to include NHL games played in the United States and Canada.
The NHL is the second most popular league among Veikkaus betting customers, trailing only Finland’s domestic Liiga. Tuomo Torkkola, Veikkaus’s Partnership Manager, said: “There is a strong demand for our NHL content, and it’s great that we can continue to provide it to our customers and other ice hockey enthusiasts in Finland during the 2024–2026 seasons.”
Joseph Stravato, NHL Director of Business Development, said: “We are thrilled with our partnership extension with Veikkaus. It is exciting to extend our partnership in advance of the 2024 NHL Global Series Finland, which will feature some of the biggest NHL Finnish stars in front of a hometown audience in Tampere.”
The collaboration will not only increase the volume of NHL content available but also enhance engagement with Finnish customers, particularly by showcasing Finnish stars competing in the league.
During the 2024–2025 season, VeikkausTV plans to broadcast over 700 live NHL games, making them accessible throughout the regular season and playoffs. The live stream broadcasts will be free for logged-in Veikkaus customers, provided they maintain a positive account balance or have an active bet on the selected match.
