The National Basketball Association (NBA) team, Golden State Warriors have inked a partnership with the cryptocurrency platform, Coinbase.

As part of the deal, the brand has become the official cryptocurrency platform and blockchain partner of the Warriors and Chase Center.

Through the agreement, the Warriors and Coinbase will work alongside to develop new and innovative ways for fans to interact with their favourite team. During the season, fans will be able to get access to distinctive onchain events, limited-edition merchandise, and other prizes.

Moreover, fans who attend the Warriors’ home games against Memphis Grizzlies on January 4, and Milwaukee Bucks on March 20, will have a one-of-a-kind chance to get physical and onchain Warriors prizes, courtesy of Coinbase. Warriors fans can also sign up for a free Coinbase account and receive additional season-long advantages.

Warriors Chief Commercial Officer, Mike Kitts, said, “The Warriors and Coinbase are both at the forefront of fan engagement. Building fandom using blockchain technology continues to be an area of opportunity for us, and we’re excited to partner with Coinbase to continue to bring unique experiences to our fans, whether they’re at Chase Center or watching from home.”

Coinbase Chief Marketing Officer, Kate Rouch, said, “Coinbase is the bridge to crypto. Our exclusive partnership with the Golden State Warriors gives fans simple and fun ways to try it out. We’re excited to bring Dub Nation onchain.”

Coinbase will have significant placement at Chase Center, both on broadcast and in-arena. Notably, Coinbase is also the exclusive cryptocurrency partner of the NBA, Women’s National Basketball League (WNBA), and NBA G League.
