Rochester, N.Y. — The Greece Regional Chamber of Commerce recognized impactful citizens and businesses at its community awards gala Thursday night.
Awards ranged from businessperson of the year to arts and culture and special achievement.
The Pirate Toy Fund took home the Thomas E. Schommer Spirit of the Chamber Award.
“We started this organization with Gary the Happy Pirate 28 years ago never expecting it to go to where it is today,” said David Simonetti of the Pirate Toy Fund. “But to be honored by the Greece chamber is a very nice honor. It tells us that what we’ve been doing all these years is being well received.”
The master of ceremonies for the evening was former 13WHAM anchor Ginny Ryan.
