The number of beneficiaries of unemployment benefits increased by 5.3% in September, in the annual comparison, totalling 185,667, according to the Social Security statistical summary.
Unemployment benefits were requested mainly by women, corresponding to 111,280 female beneficiaries and 74,387 male beneficiaries (40.1%). Compared to the previous month, unemployment benefits fell 2.2% for men but increased 1.5% for women. In annual terms, there was growth of 5.4% for men and an increase of 5.2% for women.
