In a new update, award-winning rapper Lil Durk was allegedly preparing to flee the country amid accusations of orchestrating a murder-for-hire scheme targeting fellow rapper Quando Rondo.

Federal agents claim Durk had booked multiple international flights, including routes to Dubai, Switzerland, and a private flight to Italy, in an attempt to escape U.S. jurisdiction just before being apprehended in Miami.

Durk, whose real name is Durk Banks, stands accused of paying for a retaliatory hit on Rondo that ended in the death of Rondo’s cousin, Saviay’a Robinson, known as Luh Pab, at a Los Angeles gas station in August 2022. This alleged plot stems from a long-running feud that traces back to the 2020 killing of OTF affiliate King Von during a confrontation with Rondo’s entourage in Atlanta.

In a recently unsealed FBI affidavit, Agent Sarah Corcoran details a complex operation that involved five other OTF members. The group is said to have traveled from Chicago to Los Angeles to locate Rondo, with Durk allegedly providing funds and logistical support for the mission. According to Corcoran, OTF associate Kayon Grant coordinated the final arrangements, supplying guns, ski masks, and luxury cars used in the attack. Video surveillance, court records say, places Durk in Los Angeles during the plot’s setup, but he reportedly ensured that no travel was booked in his name.

On August 19th, 2022, the suspects ambushed Rondo at a gas station, ultimately killing Robinson but missing their intended target. After the shooting, court documents suggest the group regrouped at an In-N-Out burger before returning to Chicago. Durk’s involvement allegedly included subsequent payments made to those who carried out the ambush.

Durk, who won a Grammy for Best Melodic Rap Performance for “All My Life” featuring J. Cole, faces serious charges, including conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire. Authorities assert that OTF members frequently engaged in violent acts under Durk’s leadership to solidify their standing within the group. Durk’s representatives have yet to respond to inquiries regarding these accusations.
