Trump says gas should be $1.87 a gallon. Here’s what that would mean. “Nothing Trump says will get gasoline prices below $2 a gallon. But if it is done, it’s going to demolish the U.S. oil and gas industry and infrastructure.” Gas did not, in fact, cost $1.87 a gallon when Trump left office.

  1. Once again, a reminder that once Trump gets into office he will dismantle democracy, and not have to keep any of his promises.

  2. I was paying $ 1.99 as a ride share driver in January of 2020.

  3. The best way to get gas down to $1.87 per gallon is to invest in EVs…but nobody should be buying a tesla.

  4. I see the OP is another idiot doing everything he can to get him elected

  5. God forbid the oil companies don’t make record profits every quarter

  6. Adjusted for inflation, gas right now is actually cheaper than it was in 2019

  7. Wholesale gasoline closed at $1.08 on Nov 6, 2020. $1.87 retail isn’t a stretch.

That’s nearly half of today’s close of $2.03

  8. 1) yes it was 1.87 a gallon. 2) he will start drilling and pumping in the US again (which meat puppet stopped on his first day).

  9. Gas is 2.35 here. Kinda nice. Hopefully sticks around for a bit.

  10. Good. Carbon and other gases are killing the planet.

  11. Please stop treating the things that idiot says like they mean anything. Stop the sane washing.

  12. Does anyone have the memory to remember why it was 1.85? For the life of me I’m too fucking stupid to remember /s

  13. The only time I remember gas being less than $2 was in the early covid days in March-April 2020, I shouldn’t even have to explain why the prices were like that.

  14. 🔵💪🔵💪🔵💪VOTE BLUE 🔵💪🔵💪🔵💪🔵💪🔵💪🔵💪🔵💪🔵💪So frump can serve time!!!!!!

  15. Trump could get gas to under $1 by creating a worldwide depression. Only Dopey DonOld could do it.

  16. When has he ever paid for gas, let alone even pump it?

  17. If gas/petrol is so profitable, why the fuck do they need tax payer subsidies of any kind?

  18. It’s crazy how he says shit and people waste their time actually believing him. This goes for both sides of the aisle of course, they give this guy too much credibility.

  19. If he says it enough, his supporters will believe it was $1.87 when he left office.

  20. gas prices right now are cheaper than they were under trump, and the only reason they were where they were under trump is because of the pandemic.

  21. I paid $2.39 for 91 non ethanol on 9/16/20. Regular was likely under $2 at that time

  22. Yes, it was, in fact, less than $2.00 per gallon. I paid &1.59 per gallon just two weeks after the election.

  23. Whatever the moron liberals say has was less than half under Trump than what it costs today.

  24. Ya it did… it spiked after democrats killed oil and made a hard on over EV which our infrastructure and grid can’t handle

  25. US fracking cost per barrel are around $53. Russia costs around $30 a barrel. Gulf states under$10 per barrel. US has boatloads of coal and natural gas. the only reason we pump oil now is because we embargo the cheap producers to keep prices high. It would not be hard to lower domestic prices by opening US/euro to Russ/Iran oil.
