  1. The focus on these niche industries is wild. There are more people employed by Broadway Theater in the United States than there are in the entire coal industry, but we won’t shut up about that either. Our electoral system rewards candidates for focusing on issues that don’t actually matter.

    Yes, there are that many jobs in PA that would not exist without the natural gas industry. It’s not just the drilling company on a rig. There’s the casing company. The company who supplies the tubular services. The cement services. The water trucking services. The list goes on and on. You people really have to stop talking about industries you have no clue what you’re talking about. Would you enjoy that if people with no expertise in your industry did that, and just started running off at the mouth acting like they’re experts? And tbc, both sides do it. So no, not wrong about the amount of jobs. Where he is lying is that Harris is going to ban fracking. NO ONE is going to ban fracking. So just get that through your heads. They can’t. Pennsylvania became the second largest producing state of natural gas under Obama, during the Marcellus Shale gas boom. All these jobs came to PA under Obama. And people are forgetting all the BS that Trump did with OPEC that screwed oil and gas workers. People can’t have it both ways. If you want super low oil and natural gas prices, that comes with oil and gas workers being out of work. Oil and gas companies don’t drill when prices are super low, why would they? The goal of a company is to make money. If you’re not going to make money on your product, you don’t produce. So let’s go back before the pandemic really kicked off in the United States. MBS and Putin Trump’s buddies had a drilling war, this came after a warm winter, so supply was already on the higher side, and demand was on the lower side. MBS and Putin had the price war tanking oil prices. Us oil and gas workers were losing their jobs. Trump was asked in a live press conference-are you going to get MBS or Putin on the phone and ask them to stop, and he said no you don’t need to. He called it a good thing. He tweeted that it was a tax cut. While oil and gas workers, including workers in Pennsylvania were losing their jobs. Senators from oil & gas producing states had been contacting the Saudi crown for weeks themselves trying to get them to stop. It wasn’t until Congress threatened him that they would remove military support for Saudi Arabia, that Trump finally did something. And what he did was make a stupid deal like he always does. He agreed to 2 years of production cuts from OPEC. Which is strange for something he said would go from 15 cases to zero, was just a cold. So that when we came out of covid, and demand skyrocketed, we were still under those Trump production cuts. That drives up oil prices. Also, a few months before the 2020 election, Trump extended the Eastern Gulf Shore drilling ban that was set to expire. He extended it for another 10 years, and added in the Atlantic coasts of Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. Which pissed off oil and gas companies because they said it cost 100,000 future jobs. So, drill baby drill in PA…but not Florida? LMAO. Meanwhile, under Biden oil and gas workers have been working a shit ton. They’ve done absolutely fantastic under Biden. And we actually are “drill baby drill” under Biden. We’re producing more oil than any country, at any point in history. Our incomes have doubled. Under Trump 120k oil workers and 66k natural gas workers lost their jobs. He also had a net loss of coal jobs, despite telling them they’d be shoveling so much coal they wouldn’t know what to do. Even the owners of coal companies knew he was full of shit. There’s no bringing back the coal industry. That’s just the way it is. And it was declining before Obama. And no, it has nothing to do with regulation. If it did, those coal jobs would’ve come back under Trump, they didn’t. Coal declined because of automation and cheap natural gas. And nothing is going to change that ever.

    Republicans are horrible for the economy, by every metric, facts show you that. It doesn’t matter what people believe, it only matters what is real. People are entitled to their own opinions, they are not entitled to their own facts. And that is the big problem with the country right now. And people really have to stop overestimating their knowledge on topics, and pretending as they’re their experts on every topic under the Sun.
