Will need to see if these are worth upgrading. Currently on a 15 year old gas furnance and fairly new AC unit. But I know the IRA does have incentives for heat pumps
We also really need heat pumps that drop into windows that can replace window air conditioner units to allow a lot more people to get to carbon-free heating options in the winter time.
I was hoping these would extend the low end of the range. -15F is generally fine, but we get weeks in January that get down to -30F.
I have 2 full seasons on a mini-split system from Gree, in Iowa, and when it gets below -15 degrees here in Iowa I need supplemental heating, but it has already saved far what it was previously costing to run every single month.
It is worth paying the extra to get something like this.
What are the changes made that make them good in cold climate?
