  1. So **Peter Santenello** is a pretty big american Youtuber. I watched a lot of his stuff recently.
He does this kind of walk & talk videos and visits places around the world (mostly in the US).

His newest episode is from Switzerland.

Unfortunately, he often chooses companions who can’t really explain things to him.

**What do you think of this epidsode?**

Ah sounds like there will be a second episode from Zurich.

  2. So I was curious how much the US spends on foreign aid, since they mention it when they talk about Finanzenausgleich, and it is just 1% that goes into it. So most of the federal taxes goes into military and social security/healthcare. Is hard to compare due to the different responsibilities at the local and national levels.

  3. Haven’t watched it yet but I like what Peter has been doing in the US. I like the entertainment value, I don’t see it as journalism and I don’t think he does pretend that either.

  4. Most of the things that make Switzerland so successful are not applicable to the U.S. at all.
A lot of it comes down to a common sense and an agreed upon set of behavioural norms that require a great deal of common cultural and social cohesion. They do not engage in senseless infighting and culture wars to the extend the Americans do at the moment.
Furthermore Switzerland is in a unique position politically and financially, being able to throw money at problems at a whim.
