  1. Around 2-3 year’s recovery :/
Not happening anytime soon for us. Unless we find some oil in Lapland 😅

  2. We’ve had basically 0 gdp growth since 2007/2008. Coincidentally this was also when Nokia fumbled their phone business completely. Hard to squeeze water out of a stone.

  3. The solution here is to get rid of all immigrants, especially those who have “special expert” permits. They are the main problem!

  4. Canadian.

Much of our gdp is tethered to an inflated housing market that’s at crisis levels and then you have excessive immigration in a short period. This will likely lead to a change of government from Liberal -> Conservative.

I love piss and shit filled street corners, needles in parks where you take your kids or walk your dogs, mentally ill and homeless taking over the streets so you have to watch your back and so much more goodness.

Finland has it pretty good, outside of your neighbor.

  5. Well Finland made a choice. The taxes are decently high, funding a lot of public service. The salaries are relatively flat, compared to other European countries and especially the US. The ratio between a monthly salary of a software dev and a “basic qualification” job, like working in a shop, is about 2 (at least in the capital region). In Poland it is about 6-8, and in the US it gets even higher.

It is possible to have both a relatively equal society and economic growth but it is harder. In order to equalise you need to “punish the winners” a little bit and “bail out the losers” and that doesn’t help making big companies bigger.

You can of course argue life is better here than in the US, but that’s a separate thing entirely, the post is about the GDP growth.
