  1. Good. They’re still doing this though sponsored links are prioritised to the point they push relevant stuff down sometimes multiple pages. Search for a particular model of something and most of the results are different models that are sponsored and even the non-sponsored links are mostly useless and even page 2 is often full of shit. Someone should make a browser extension that automatically loads page 3 and it might actually be a usable search engine again.

    I understand if people type in something generic they’re probably not going to be very discriminative when it comes to the results but when someone types in a specific model number I’m not going to click on something else. I need that specific model number. The information is there 3 pages down so all they’ve achieved is getting me to use different search engines for the first time since Google existed. The only thing I find more useless than Google search results is YouTube’s recommendation algorithm which continually recommends shit stuff that is 10 years ago and things I already seen while a stupid amount of new content is added every second.
