What is the most terrifying creature in finnish mythology? I go first!

  1. To me this looks like your basic sleep paralysis. Pressing feeling on chest and some hellish creature towering on top of you while you lay in your bed. Tbh when you have enough of these they are just annoying.

  2. Let me tell you the terrifying tale of the Ulosottomies, the great scourge of the 1990s. A shape shifter, often taking the form of a spectacled, possibly moustached, man (named either Matti, Hannu or Tapio) with an unassuming trench coat.

    He may not be mythological, and may not look scary at first sight, but he strikes fear and terror upon all who fall under his gaze.

  3. The tentacle monster of Finnish mythology, Iku-turso, is one of my favourites.

    Apparently son of (god of sky) Äijö, and father of Väinömöinen. Also made pregnant Loviatar that gave birth to sicknesses, cold weather and brothers Rujo, Rampa and Perisokea.
