Bulgarians should not think much of it, but should go and vote. This appeal was made by the famous cardiologist Prof. Ivo Petrov to Bulgaria ON AIR. He also addressed the politicians.

“It is high time that there should be some kind of metamorphosis in their behavior as well, as Bulgaria, unfortunately, is in a free fall. At the moment, we may be experiencing the last moments in which Bulgaria can be saved. From a demographic, political, and financial point of view, things are really not what we dreamed of”, the professor also shared.

For the benefit of the people

He was adamant that the healthy public interest should be leading in order to find a way out of this situation.

“We’ve been talking about healthcare change for decades. In fact, this reform, which we started when the so-called democracy came, must be completed. This reform had to be completed, because at the moment we have a hybrid, an oxymoron – remnants of socialist health care and at the same time some type of modernized European-type health care”, pointed out Prof. Petrov.

Bulgarians in Albania

He also commented on the mission in which he is participating for the second year in a row in Albania. Among Bulgarian society, free medical examinations are organized there for people who do not have access to medical care.

“This is a painful issue for Bulgaria. Bulgaria does not pay attention to people living outside the country, and there are many of them. For more than 60 years, Bulgaria has turned its back on this population, which some say are Bulgarians, I would say they are descendants of Bulgarians. This part of Albania, which is in the city of Korcha and around it – 10-12 villages are inhabited by people who are really descendants of Bulgarians”, the doctor also pointed out.

He expressed hope that the initiative will continue in the future.
