Luciano Spalletti will be watching two Italy players closely in today’s Serie A clash between Inter Milan and Juventus – Federico Dimarco and Andrea Cambiaso.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
It’s not exactly a surprise that Italy coach Spalletti will be at the San Siro this evening.
The Derby d’Italia is always a massive match. And it will feature a litany of Italian internationals.
For Inter, the likes of Alessandro Bastoni and Nicolo Barella are key players for the Azzurri. And then Davide Frattesi and Matteo Darmian could certainly also appear.
Meanwhile, the likes of Federico Gatti, Manuel Locatelli, and Nicolo Fagioli are all likely to start for Juventus.
Therefore, Azzurri coach Spalletti will have plenty of players he’ll want to keep an eye on.
But according to Tuttosport, there are two players in particular whose battle Spalletti will be keen to watch.
Wingback Federico Dimarco has become a key player for both Inter and Italy.
The 26-year-old is now unquestionably first-choice on the left flank for both club and country.
Therefore, Spalletti will naturally want to see how Dimarco does this evening. The Italian international has grown immensely over the past couple seasons, and he could show another step forward in this massive match.
But the player who Dimarco is likely to be up against is another important player for Italy.
Former Genoa and Bologna wingback Andrea Cambiaso has started cementing a place for himself at right-wingback for Italy, a bit of a problem position for the Azzurri in recent years.
Therefore, Spalletti will certainly eye up how Cambiaso does against opposition as formidable as Dimarco.
The Italy coach could well be plotting his strategy on the flanks with this evening’s match in mind.
