Seurasaari, Hvitträsk, Louhisaari, and Langinkoski to close due to budget cuts.
I spent many hours on Seurasaari, love to walk around there.
Is this just escalation to demand more funding or is this long term?

It’s escalating for more funding.
In the US they call it Mount Rushmore syndrome.
Every public service always feels that they are the one that shouldn’t be cut at all.
The fact is Finland is spending more than it’s making, so we have to get used of not having as many nice things. Or get a lot more skilled workers and industry.
Did you even once pay the entrance fee at Seurasaari? Or just wander around outside?
If you don’t use them, you lose them. I just hope they upkeep the buildings at least so they don’t degrade to unusable.
Give it a time and there’ll be commercial and/or residential buildings.
They’ve just closed the Lenin Museum in Tampere, too.
Strange thing is that Seurasaari was actually making money. But they won’t close access to Seurasaari. Just the access to the buildings and yards.
