  1. > **in a blow to the country’s long-held aspiration for EU membership**

    > “It is a rare case in the world that the same party achieves such success in such a difficult situation – this is a good indicator of the talent of the Georgian people,” said Ivanishvili, widely considered to be the country’s most powerful figure.

Indeed, Ivanishvili. And this news seriously couldn’t be sweeter if it were a pile of baked candied apples resting atop a mound of sugar.

It has just been a delicious day in news all-around.

  2. You know what?

As a pro-EU, pro-West lad I am fine with that.

And I will sound really spiteful, but for me they deserve it.

Bribes and corruption are one thing, but why for the love of God, there were FOUR pro-European coalitions.

When you are being faced with pro-Russian rulings and the threat of a foreign authoritarian actor on the top of your head, what else do you need to unite and present a solid front?

Who knows how many votes the lost and how many people they sent toward the Georgian Dream with his division.
