Going through an old scrapbook from my grandparent’s trip to Scotland in 1987, found this photo and letter from a local, looks like the shop doesn’t exist anymore? In case anyone knows the family or area 🙂

I replied to sir steve but it’s now the butchers
Never seen ‘Alba’ spelled with an explicit epenthetic vowel before (“Alaba”). I’m assuming it’s just bad Gaelic and not some unusual dialectal variation. Happy to be proved wrong however…
Butchers, now. I worked next door in the paper shop, when it was one, for a while.
