SS: India is pushing to boost domestic manufacturing of IT hardware, military aircraft, and semiconductors through various incentive schemes and initiatives. The government aims for significant local value addition and reducing dependence on imports, creating substantial job opportunities and technological advancements in the country.
I prefer buying from American/European and even Chinese manufacturers compared with Indian. Indian manufacturing is very subpar in terms of quality, they have a long way to go but they will get there.
Long way to go, especially in terms of quality but have to start somewhere. The stress on ESG norms, labour transparency and quality control is very high these days, china and korea industrialized long time ago when these factors weren’t as important.
A positive step in the right direction as the world weans a little off of China to reduce risk.
But lots to go in terms of labor laws, safety culture and environmental protection.
