  1. Sources: The official website for any of the 4 leagues mentioned in the post image, I’m confident I didn’t make a mistake, that being said im gonna get a bajillion angry comments because that’s just how it goes for me.

  2. I suppose for Canada you could substitute the CFL for NFL, which would add one more team to BC, SK, MB and QC, and add two teams to AB an ON, however I recognize the CFL is an order of magnitude smaller than the NFL.

  3. Purely an opinion, but when mapping differences in a quantity, using a color gradient is vastly more intuitive. Nothing is more annoying than having to keep looking at the legend.

  4. Please don’t measure intensity with a rainbow palette. It’s garbage.

  5. DC should have 0. The Washington Commanders are in Maryland.

Edit 3. They should be colored for 3 not 4.

  6. Grey (0 teams) is the most prevalent color on the map, yet it isn’t in the legend.

  7. Don’t bother including Canada. Canadians play Canadian football for one.

  8. States ≠ provinces. Needs to reflect in key. States and provinces.

  9. 3 and 4 are too close in colour, can hardly tell the difference at first glance

  10. As a colorblind person, I dunno what the fuck is happening here.

  11. I’m not convinced NHL is objectively bigger than MLS.

  12. You keep saying how lazy you are, but you’re not lazy, you’re responding to every comment. What you are is satisfied with mediocre. 🤷‍♂️

  13. Lol at the exact same shade of orange for the two most common answers.

  14. Why separate 3 and 4 and then use basically the same color? MN and WI are different right?

  15. Why the fuck are there two damn near identical shades of orange. This isn’t a difficult choice to make

  16. Shouldn’t MLS have surpassed NHL due to viewership and attendance being higher?

  17. so much hate on here, i really enjoyed this OP 🙂

  18. One could argue that Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, and Rhode Island should be in the “1” category, because of the New England Patriots representing that entire region. Yes, they’re based in Massachusetts, but both name and cultural affiliation point in that direction (ask any football fan in those states, and they’d argue for it adamantly).

  19. Shame about the colour choices. The information is actually quite interesting.
