This is utterly ridiculous – get it done already – no wonder the west is in decline, it lacks the will to defend itself and the vision to see the threat – get it done already, this is supposed to be accomplished already, the west drags its feet, but Ukraine has to fight still. The threat isn’t going away, it’s getting greater, Ukraine is the front line.
These aren’t systems that were promised from transfers
These are systems that were committed, and need to be built. AD systems don’t come flying off of racks.
Right now 2 patriots systems systems are produced annually, and that’s because of the radar system which is sensitive
You also can’t flood them with systems when you can’t keep up with missle production which is an issue currently. We’re burning more AD missles than we can make
I would love for Ukraine to have these, but there is more to this
I think one of those systems is a NASAMS system promised to Ukraine by Canada. Apparently, the system is on order and not yet built.
It would be wonderful if he could shame the so-called ‘allies’, but the problem is the allies have no shame.
So called “partners” prefer to enjoy visiting disneyland, they are too busy. OK your children will harvest the fruits of your stupidity. ruzzia will come to you because you are sooooo slooooooow
Tell these weak people that what they promised is not there, shame on them
It’s a problem with the industrial base. Most weapon systems require highly skilled manufacturing process. If you require 10 systems and you order them to be built in two years then what? The line shuts down and everyone forgets about making them for the next decade or two. All the knowledge and skills atrophy along with the worker base. if you build them slowly, one a year, you keep that knowledge and worker base, with the idea you can use that as a seed to expand production in the event of a full scale industrial war.
The fact is – the needs of Ukraine are not high enough volume to justify building out that capacity. Countries need to commit to buying dozens of systems for themselves. And they won’t do that.
1989 Belgium – 108k troops Current – 24k
Germany – 503k Current – 183k
France – 558k Current – 270k
Italy – 506k. Current – 338k
Etc, etc, etc….
And that’s just raw troop numbers. Many of those are manning half strength formations with little equipment. The US is the *ONLY* NATO country who maintains significant stockpiles of systems and munitions but it has global commitments that mean it cannot afford to empty its cupboard to Ukraine.
