  1. In a somber meeting in New York, the United Nations Security Council discussed the devastating war in Sudan, which has now lasted for 18 months. While the council members reached consensus on a handful of limited measures and strategies to address the country’s spiraling crisis, the meeting also exposed the UN’s powerlessness and reluctance to take more decisive action.

  2. It’s crazy how the I/P conflict has taken so much of the focus away from conflicts where international aid and involvement may have a much greater impact. Not to say the aid going to Gaza isn’t important, but people are actually starving to death en masse some of the other conflicts.
