Deutsche Telekom is not letting me terminate my contract and I think they are lying to me.
I am moving in with my girlfriend who already has an internet contract in the apartment. What I have read from the Verbraucherzentrale this should give me a special right of termination (see link to Verbraucherzentrale’s article in the bottom).
Now that I am trying to terminate my contract with Deutsche Telekom they claim that they would only terminate the contract if my girlfriend’s internet contract would also be from Deutsche Telekom. Because it’s not they are making me keep the contract and pay until the end of my contract term, which is 5 months from now.
They must get similar cases each month and know the law very well. Are they lying to me or am I actually stuck with the contract?
Would filing a complaint via Verbraucherzentrale help?

You can’t terminate early if the provider can provide the internet to you at your new place, only if he cannot (like moving abroad).
Where in the linked article do you think it says that you have a Sonderkündigungsrecht?
You only have that if you move somewhere they can’t offer services. As I presume you’re moving within Germany, that is extremely unlikely. The fact that your GF chose not to use them as a provider has nothing to do with that.
It’s actually the other way around. Deutsche Telekom would have agreed to cancel your contract (which they didn’t have to) if you moved in with another customer of theirs. They have no obligation to cancel your contract at all. Can you check how long your girlfriend’s contract is running? Perhaps that one can be terminated.
First of all, it doesn‘t matter if it‘s a contract wirh Telekom or any other provider. Ich your contract coult move to the new adress your contract can move. I know that Telekom usually terminates your contract if the place you move to has already a Telekom contract. If your girlfriend has a other provider there is no financial interest on leaving the money on the table and no law speaking against it. Any other provider would do it the same.
Since your booked line will most likely block internet for the person moving in after you, find out wether this person wants internet from your provider and ask you provider to call this person. A new 2 year contract and a happy new costumer will be better than a maybe new costomer in 5 month.
