I want to be able to lock my room when im not home (i dont really know my roommates and i dont trust them) but im also not allowed to change the door handle, you can literally peek through the lock hole and it makes me uncomfortable, is it possible to buy a lock and install it? And how do i know which one to buy? Will it be easy for me to this by myself even tho i never did this before?

You can buy a lock that fits into the keyhole. Check Amazon for:
# Schlüssellochsperrer/Steckschloss
Yes, you can.
Not really sure if this is the correct one, that’s something you have to check yourself:

Sure, you can buy locks without all the stuff around. You just need to measure the depth (length?) of the hole for the lock.
I’d recommend any Schlüsselmänner shop in Munich to get the right lock.
With a bit of luck you can buy a [Einsteckschloss ](https://toom.de/p/einsteckschloss-es-pz2-rechts-gold-5572-mm/480033)and a [schließzylinder ](https://toom.de/p/zylinder-fuer-holz-und-kunststofftueren-4040-mm/154297) with a [Drücker Garnitur ](https://toom.de/p/druecker-wechselgarnitur-system-in-edelstahloptik/4282005)
That can fix your isue with the security and privacy concerns.
You need to measure all parts individualy and put them together accordingly.
You can only replace the inner workings and use the visible parts from the old lock. However, you must check that the dimensions match. And make sure it says “DIN links” (this is the direction, your door opens). Something like this could do it (if it fits): [[possible product on amazon.de]](https://www.amazon.de/BKS-Zimmertür-Wohnungstür-einseitig-Profilzylinder/dp/B08GFZTVZF)
You can remove the handles, unscrew the plate and then pull out the whole door/lock mechanism. Then take that to a hardware store and ask them to help you pick out a replacement that comes with keys. And that’s it.
Just make sure you keep the old one to swap back when you move out.
Can you lock the door as it is now? If it’s just the keyhole that bothers you you could just put some tape over it.
