ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) – Texas residents have one more day to participate in early voting. Friday, Nov. 1 is the last day for early voting across East Texas. .
In Nacogdoches County, election officials said voters can arrive at the County Annex building during early voting. However, come election day, Nacogdoches County voters are reminded to vote in their precinct only.
As of Wednesday, Nacogdoches County early voting numbers are 16,439. Angelina County recorded 23,204. Smith County recorded 72,763 and Gregg County recorded 32,518.
Angelina County elections administrator Terri Jordan reminds voters to have a form of an ID when arriving at the polls.
“Like six forms of the picture ID they can carry, have. If not, There’s other forms they could do,” she said.
Jordan also said Friday is the last day for out-of-county voters to vote on a limited ballot.
“We would verify if they are registered in another county and then we would let them vote on a limited ballot which is everything we have in common within the county,” said Jordan.
Gregg County election administrator Jennifer Briggs asks voters to pay attention to distance markers that prohibit political activities under law.
“You can’t wear any political advertising that’s for a party, a candidate on the ballot or measured on the ballot,” said Briggs.
State law also forbids using your phone or any other recording device inside of a polling location. Smith county election administrator Michelle Allcon said voters can visit the county’s webpage to view polling locations.
“There’s a banner on top of that homepage that will take you right to the current information page with all the current locations, dates, times. There’s even a map there that they can use to look up the location,” said Allcon.
