  1. I mean, ‘Wales’ literally comes from the old English word for ‘foreigners’ or ‘slaves’

  2. Northern Irish history just never gonna be brought up except maybe Titanic anf The Troubles

  3. FACTS it’s seems like Scotland is the black sheep of the family successful but under appreciate, England the established successful but narcissistic older brother and Wales is the forgotten Middle Child because nobody gives a fuck about Wales.

  4. Let’s be honest, when people refer to Britain, or the UK, they’re thinking about England.

  5. To be fair, the population of Scotland and Wales combined is less than Greater London. I love both countries but there is statistically going to be less history when England has more than 10x the people.

  6. The flip side is that Scotland and Wales are fair less associated with the empire despite benefitting from it and (more so with Scotland) actively participating.

  7. There was a video about a Welsh nobleman and his surename and some sort of s big rabbit hole…

  8. If anything had happened there maybe it would have been recorded enough for people to discuss it.

  9. The engineer and MP that put Big Ben was Welsh. Oh wait, that’s English history again. Please disregard

  10. What a load of shite. Welsh poetry and the Scottish enlightenment make up a huge amount of British history discussions.

lol the Scottish enlightenment literally invented liberal democracy.

  11. It stands to reason. People are generally more interested in the history of their own country. And the large majority of British people are English.

Which is a shame, because Scottish and Welsh history is just as fascinating. I have an interest in pre-Anglo Britain. It’s very interesting stuff. Especially people like the Picts, about whom we still know very little.
