In 2008, some guy in front of me at Hamburg Airport was trying to check in with an old expired East German passport. He threw a fit and had an absolute meltdown because they wouldn’t issue him a boarding pass for the flight.
Keep it, It will be valid again in a decade or so.

I’m getting my first passport next week so I had to get my [birth certificate](https://imgur.com/a/zOU4V8N) and saw it for the first time.
It’s an official document, but it looks so plain and the paper is super thin.
I am afraid the amount of countries you could visit with it was somewhat limited to begin with

Funny thing is: even if you went 50 years back in time, that passport wouldn’t be too useful…
