but v good news…. “The Hrim-2 is a single-stage, solid-fuel ballistic missile that can carry an 1,100-pound warhead as far as 310 miles, presumably under inertial guidance. It represents a major step up from Ukraine’s best current battlefield rocket – the 1970s-vintage Tochka.
KB Pivdenne, a missile-maker in Dnipro, in eastern Ukraine, has been working on the Hrim-2 for a decade. It was a low priority in the years before Russia widened its war on Ukraine starting in February 2022: funding was a constant problem.”
“Deeper and deeper.”
Wow Putin was immune to missiles until now? /s
Is it the Putin killer 3000?
It should be able take out the Kersh bridge with that kind of yield and range.
Hopefully this will help to bring reality home to the many Russians who seem to barely register that there’s a war happening.
I feel that the only line of depravity Putin hasn’t clearly crossed is trying to whack Pres Zel by military strike. I’d rather see Ukraine drive a military thrust deep into Russia than to see this all become a contest of “murder the enemy head of state”.
Serious question. With this capability, is it acceptable that Ukraine target the Kremlin and Duma? I know Ukraine has been deliberately making war fighting difficult, hitting the centres of leadership surely would help trigger an uprising? I could be wrong.
I was wondering if Ukraine was still producing the Neptune because we haven’t really heard news of them doing anything.
This missile will do the trick. They need to get it into production. A 1,100 pound warhead on a missile with a range of 310 miles can do some serious damage.
This missile has been in the Russia mind since the early 2000s, they tried to actively sabotage the development of it and even had their puppet (yanukovych) delay and ultimately “scrap” the project.
It’s going to be a “game changer” (and no not the game ender as what the media really means with game changer) in that IF the missile works as intended, Ukraine has enough of them and trained personnel, then Ukraine would be able to potentially severely neutralize one of Russia’s main remaining ace in this war: air power.
Since it’s 1 of the 2 big strategies that Russia has:
1. Scorch earth
* Where they just artillery/air bomb a city/fortification into dust
2. Meat grinder
* Probing (suicide) groups that then allow the rest of the Russians to move in with tanks/IFVs/artillery/glide bombs on spotted weaker Ukrainian defensive
As much as I want this to be true gtfo with this click bait shit
Sounds like much too crucial of an information to let out like this. Hopefully it’s already long been well under way. Or hopefully they already have a strategy revolving this report…
Great! I‘ll keep my fingers crossed!
Good
i think if anyone survives nuclear apocalypse it will be him
Please don’t delay. Engage immediately.
Big enough for a nuke. They just need one big nuke and balls of Ukranium and this will all be over.
That is one glum article. I’m glad they’ve developed their own long range missile, but things are looking grim.
And if the Russians can consistently recruit 30K/mo without dipping into the Muscovy well yet, I can’t even fathom how many China could call up monthly.
I hope the first use of Hrim-2 is not a single isolated use but a volley of them totally obliterating a really significant military target, both wiping out ruzzian assets and making a statement. But they need to have enough so that it is not a one shot effort but they can follow up in successive days with more volleys, as ruzzia will definitely move around assets after the first use.
And David Axe is correct – this missile alone is not likely to change the war, especially in the short run. We need a change in the US Presidency to a leader with bigger balls and more used to dealing with adversarial situations, such as a former federal prosecutor….
