Who knew Gen Z were such workaholics, I did it 20 times in 6 months.
So in the article they compare this to people in the UK. Well in my experience British people come to work sick and spread it to everyone which is a BAD thing.
Old farts don’t understand why young farts put health before employer
When you have no chance to one time own something, there is no incentive to do anything above the basic stuff to not get fired.
Have you tried offering meaningful jobs on a livable planet?
German bosses should sit on a sandpaper covered dildo.
Gen-Z is NOT work-shy, you need to change your methods. hybrid working, flexible hours or 3-4 holiday weeks a year would bring them back even though you give them a salary under expectations.
Ridiculous. None of my employees is lazy. I think this kind of stuff is just selective reporting about idiots saying stupid stuff.
Well, I get sick everytime I see whats left on my bank account, so I guess I do get sick every few days.
German bosses looking to deflect attention from lukewarm wage growth, piss-poor digitalization, rigid hierarchies and a reluctance to decentralize responsibility or change old processes. You can’t complain about a lack of innovation while simultaneously hammering down any nails that stick out.
The problems German industry faces are not because of GenZ, they’re from a lack of Boomer investment over the last 20 years when Germany enjoyed “good times” but squandered this instead of investing in hard changes/hard decisions that are still not yet done.
These are the kind of employers who constantly cry about not finding enough applicants. Guess why……………
It’s certainly Gen-Z and not completely shitty economic policies and politics over the last 30 years.
Trust me. Even if you strip all the unions, remove worker’s ability to protest and even legally allow no severance, you will still be gaslighted as being the problem.
Source: singapore has almost no unions because it’s all been dismantled.
We regularly get blamed for wanting even a sliver of protection saying employers will leave and we will be jobless.
hah, sure, that’s all the problem there is. Sickly, work-shy gen z. It’s got nothing to do with pointless slavery which won’t afford us even a sliver of the dystopian future our predecessors have created.
Management, board, CEOs, finance, bwankers, hr, etc are all corporate bootlicking filth. Vermin.
An additional day worked gives a shitty wage and is taxed even higher. An additional day off work gives the same shitty wage and cannot be taxed.
Given the circumstances, the rational choice is to take more time off.
There’s being sick and being “sick.” I have a coworker, who lives to work. She’ll come in even if she’s got the plague, and we all get annoyed by it. I also had a coworker, who was not known for his work ethic. He calls in sick for thing like, “I slipped on the stairs on my way to the U-Bahn and now my ankle hurts, so I’m gonna stay at home today.” Anyway, he doesn’t work for us anymore.
There are two different kinds of being sick.
Yeah, expect them to work their asses off, because they can work their whole life and never be able afford a house or even a fking drivers license (costs nearly 4k euros these days). And then lets blame them for not being hardworking individuals.
Gen Z – Remember who owns these sources. Be sceptical of why you hear about what random “bosses” “blame”.
I guess the mantras about what work can do for you are starting to run a bit hollow.
Tax the shit out of people while the benefits those taxes once paid for get worse and vanish year by year. Make making a career almost impossible and suppress wages to the point where affording a house is a not possible anymore for vast amounts of the population. Now wonder why people don’t give a shit about work and just coast along. Hilarious.
The same bosses who cheated, lied and are awaiting trial for Dieselgate that brought Volkswagen to its knees?
Aren’t they a minority in the workforce?
The real problem in fact lies within wrong foreseeing decisions of German CEOs and management. We are not talking about 0,5 percent growth. We are talking about loosing 10% growth due to wrong decisions. While calling in sick all the time is a bad behavior it has not much to do with economic growth.
Sick days is not the reason your economy is in shatters. You barely have decent internet nowadays, let alone anything digitized. And you wanna compete in what exactly? Overpriced Cars with seat warmers requiring subscriptions?
Seethe more
Bro at work I get coughed hours on end up every other week making me get stupid sick, no where else do I get covid and the flu and a cold back to back.
Perhaps it’s the fact we had a shit pandemic and hygiene hasn’t improved so the extra strains are starting to shit on our economic output.

Cry me a river.
It is a simple calculation:
The [real wages have been stagnant](https://www.destatis.de/DE/Themen/Arbeit/Verdienste/Realloehne-Nettoverdienste/_inhalt.html) for decades and the state [takes an average 52.6 percent](https://www.steuerzahler.de/belastungsbarometer/) of the income for social insurance and taxes.
