Are you concerned about blackouts since we use so much electricity?
Consumer Energy Alliance President David Holt believes more blackouts are on the horizon.
“A typical Google search uses, let’s say, one unit of power,” Holt said. “An AI Google search is 10 units of power. So pretty soon, all Google searches are going to be done with AI, so it’s like 10 times the amount of electricity demand that we’re going to need very quickly.”
Holt says doesn’t want us to see blackouts that last for days. He says elected officials need to bring enough dispatchable permanent power to the grid to meet this increased electricity demand.
