I’m going to visit Monaco soon and I want to go to a viewpoint to see the harbour.
Does anyone know which street the following picture is taken from?

  1. This was most likely taken from the steps that lead up to Le Rocher. They are called La Rampe de la Major. The royal palace is at the top of those steps, and will give you a great view of the port and most of Monaco. If you cross the courtyard in front of the palace, there is a vantage point that gives you a great view of Fontvieille. From there, you can walk to the cathedral, then through the gardens (Jardin de Saint Martin) all the way to the oceanographic museum.

If you want to go swimming in the ocean, the best places would be La Petite Plage aka Ciapairra, or else along the southern wall of the port, which is known as La Digue. Both should show up on maps, or just ask some locals.

I also highly recommend stopping off at La Rascasse for lunch. Just get whatever they have on special.
