  1. Donald Trump must be impeached and removed from office if we want to save our country.

    It is the only way.

Not following the SC decision is one of the very strong grounds for impeachment.

  2. It’s to be honest shocking that Trump is twisting the truth about the Supreme Court’s decision, falsely claiming it meant only providing a plane, something so absurd, when the court clearly ruled otherwise, and it’s particularly concerning that he’s saying it meant only providing a plane if Bukele wanted to return Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a really fabricated claim and the fact that he said the Court ruled 9-0 in his favor just adds insult to injury.

  3. Well thanks to the Supreme Court nothing Trump does in the pursuit of presidential duties is illegal so what can they do?

  4. With open defiance who needs the Supreme Court anymore?

  5. Nothing. The question is when he does nothing, what can/should we do about it?

  6. I’m scared of the answer to this.

The administration is already lying about this. Stephen Miller is giving interviews to the media claiming they celebrated the Supreme Court decision because it was a 9-0 win in their favor.

  7. I hope that this is the defining moment that haunts him, he sold his soul, and his legacy, for Trump.

  8. Brow furrowing like we’ve never seen before, maybe even finger wagging!

  9. Never forget that *right now* Republicans have the numbers to impeach Trump in the House and convict him in the Senate. They are complicit with everything he does. The GOP is his co-conspirator in the demise of American democracy.

  10. States are only beholden to the Constitution. If Trump says it is nullified, we are on our own.

Newsom should remove all DHS, ICE and Border Patrol agents from the state.

  11. The Supreme Court made itself inconsequential over the course of John Robert’s terrible tenure. Ruling that the President was exempt from prosecution for crimes committed while in office was terrible. Citizens United was the death knell of American Democracy. John Roberts has to go. Impeach him and Clarence Thomas.

  12. A little coup d’état here and there, not respecting laws, democracy or human rights aren’t reasons for impeachment the GOP will say. MAGA!

Trump was chosen by God and he’s the only one who can make America great again.

If you want to see what a christo-nazi authoritarian regime look like, just open your eyes.

  13. The people in Trump’s administration who are right now carrying out this blatantly illegal and dangerous bullshit must be held criminally accountable. Everyone in the DOJ, ICE, DHS, etc must be held accountable.

  14. if the Supreme Court cannot put Trump to heel, and Congress will not impeach, Americans need to act to restore the balance of the constitutional order

  15. He’s going to do exactly what AG Garland did. Nothing.

  16. The silver lining to this is that it means Roe vs. Wade was never overturned either…

  17. Nothing will happen. But it would be interesting if they held the entire chain of command up to and including Trump in contempt of court with personal fees charged per day and anyone other than Trump himself arrested by deputized US Marshals and held under house arrest.

The government shouldn’t be able to bring any new cases or appeals until they comply with the orders of the court. However, challenger of the government are free to move forward with hearings.

  18. I guess we can now add the conservative justices to the “Leopards Ate My Face” club. They were quite fine surrendering huge amounts of power and authority to the President, as long as it wasn’t their power. Now we shall see how well they enjoy their own power being stripped. Fucking fools.

  19. One of the few things the courts can do at this point is to order massive damages. It might not get the guy back, but will at least set a precedent that should discourage this kind of thing.

Not a US lawyer so don’t know how workable that is.

  20. Every GOP member of congress needs to be asked what *they* will do about this. They could stop all of this today. This is on them. Trump can’t impeach himself.

  21. Anyone who watched the oval office presser should feel sick. Stephen Miller got up there and told a bold faced lie that the Supreme Court sided 9-0 with Trump and that supports not brining him back.

  22. They have no recourse. The only next step involves Congress fulfilling their “Check and Balances” responsibilities — and that aint gonna happen.

It took less than three months for a corrupt, incompetent, and visibly senile man to become firmly in charge of all three branches of Government; and broad swarths of the country are fully on board.

  23. John Roberts will do nothing. He couldn’t even if he wanted to. He helped see to that himself.

  24. In a functioning Democracy, Trump articles of impeachment focused on this one issue would be filed by the end of the week and Trump would be out of office by May 1st. It’s the most easy win, open and shut case against a President possible.

This won’t happen because he’s now officially a Dictator. This is exactly what anti-fascists were warning about before the election.

  25. Fuck all. That’s what. Because they are all spineless traitors.

  26. John Roberts isn’t going to do anything, his son is Trump’s personal loan officer at Deuchebank. He already oversaw giving Trump full immunity from prosecution, and declaring that paying a government official AFTER they award you a contract or favor isn’t bribery it’s just a “gratuity” to cover Clarence Thomas’s “gratuities.”

That rep of “constitutional originalist” is just convenient branding, he sold his integrity a long long time ago, and doesn’t lose any sleep over it.

  27. It’s not the first time a president ignored and violated a Supreme Court ruling/order. Andrew Jackson is infamous for doing exactly that.

If Roberts doesn’t throw the entire weight and power of the court behind enforcing his ruling then he should be impeached. The constitution gives him the authority.

  28. He can’t do anything, because he’s bound by laws, and Trump is, apparently, not.

The civics textbook answer is that Congress should move to impeach, but we all know that ain’t happening. So then, what happens? Nothing. The fatal flaw in any democratic system is that bad people can win elections, and once you have a critical mass of people willing to vote for bad people, it’s game over.

This is why we make people swear an oath when they get elected, to defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic, etc. But oaths will only bind people who have integrity anyway.

  29. Roberts ain’t gonna do shit. He sold the country out.

  30. Robert’s immunity ruling will be on the epitaph of this country’s headstone.

He not only did he give a criminal full immunity, but he slow walked the entire process, so it was nearly impossible for Trump when he was a private citizen to face justice in the courts. He gave Trump complete immunity retroactively by delaying justice.

Now we’re dealing with the repercussions of having a criminal president. Yeah the American public is to blame for electing him and they assuredly deserve suffering, but the Supreme Court basically denying any of the significant trials to take place created the space for the public to think the crimes “weren’t that serious” or to forget about them. They are just as wicked as the court.

  31. He’s going to do absolutely nothing. The Supreme Court may as well not even exist at this point.

  32. The judge should order an immediately injunction on all and any payments going to El Salvador for the purposes of housing people until he’s returned

  33. John Roberts is going to hold his tongue firmly in Trump’s anus.

  34. SCOTUS (the 5 bought and paid for) will bend over and say thank you very much.

  35. Nothing because the Supreme Court is a weapon when they rule for him, and to be ignored when they rule against him

  36. Democracy died back when bribery became legal with Citizens United. We don’t have elections anymore. We have secret auctions. Until that changes, the government doesn’t answer to voters. It answers to money.

  37. Nothing. Roberts is the worst chief justice since Robert Taney.

  38. If the court does nothing Trump will continue to ignore the Supreme Court. They have to do something.

  39. “John Marshall wrote the law, let’s see him enforce it.”

    — Andrew Jackson

This is the stage we are at.

  40. This is called the death of democracy and the official creation of dictatorship, where the executive branch no longer recognizes or respects the authority of the other branches. He wants him and his cabinet to make all decisions and do whatever they want. No one is stopping him, and I doubt he or his cabinet would care or leave even if they were impeached
