Is sex selection practiced in Liechtenstein? That is, do parents with female embryos abort, or is infanticide practiced?

Just came across Liechtenstein’s sex ratio – the most skewed in the world – and [saw here](https://www.businessinsider.com.au/china-gender-ratio-disparity-isnt-words-largest-2015-10) that it’s been that way for a few years now. Wondering if anyone here has any insight into why.

  1. As the article notes abortion is illegal in Liechtenstein – however it would be very easy for one to take a 15 min drive into Switzerland, Austria, or Germany for an abortion. Perhaps the data is distorted due to the extremely small population / sample size. Wonder if it is possible to access a longer time series of data?

  2. Liechtenstein might not be the most modern country, but sex selection and infanticide are certainly not a thing.

I had a look at data that is actually from Liechtenstein, because frankly I find the source a bit questionable. It looks like [2016](http://www.llv.li/files/as/fl-in-zahlen-deutsch-2016.pdf) is a bit of an outlier (page 12). [2015](http://www.llv.li/files/as/fl-in-zahlen-deutsch-internet.pdf) looks rather balanced (page 12) as do the previous years. With only approximately 300 births per year it’s really not that unlikely that one year it just happend that more boys were born.
