It should have been removed at shop, try strong neodymium magnet if you have. Besides that idk how to open it w/o it
I had that happened to me few months ago. I just went back with the receipt and ask them to open it for me
It’s just plastic, you can break it with tools, cut it with a knife or melt it with nail varnish remover

As a security agent at store ill tell you how. use magnet on that small grey loose circular thingy standing out, and then twist the black and transparent parts in oposite directions in way you try to unscrew a jar lid, the wire inside should loosen and you may be able to just take that plastic cup safer off your precious whisky.

If youre planning to share then just cut the top of bud.
You can either take it back and ask them to remove, or use a hacksaw.

Put whole bottle in bag, smash glass, pour in cup.
Happened to me a few times with different items, peace was never an option. Try to have fun, use a hammer, fire, knives, axe or whatever is stupid and comes to your mind first.

Bro I had the same shit happen to me. I was checked out by the cashier as usual. The booze was inside a carton. Little did I know they had opened it up to lock the bottle. So I couldn’t have known lol. It did beep as I walked out but I was told to just walk away with it. Unfortunately it was a gift for my friend who now probably subconsciously suspects that I’m a thief. Been 2 years and he still didn’t get the damn thing off.
Happanned to me once, i decided to saw it off at the top. I’ve succeeded.
Drill a hole through the top and put a straw inside, now you can drink 🥤
This is a TRAGEDY! God speed my friend. Thoughts and prayers.
I would recommend “the universal key”
(Angle grinder with a cutoff disk for the uninitiated)
At the end of this black circle going to the side is a small lid. You can get it out with a screwdriver or something like that. Then it will reveal spring mechanism inside, just remove the spring and the whole thing will be disarmed.

Yeah mate, nobody is gonna believe you didn’t registered a giant cap on the bottle not being taken down by the cashier when you probably went there only for that and maybe cigs since I’ve never seen anyone taking a week worth of groceries and slap a bottle of Ballantines on top of it
