in Italy today, 6th of January, they celebrate a christmas tradition of the witch Befana, who gives candys or coal to children. In the city of Pistoia, the firefighters make a presentation at the central square to wait for the arrival of the witch Befana, a very nice spetacle!

Oh, that explains La Bufana in The Santa Clauses. I was wondering what she had to do with Christmas.
Thanks for sharing! A Christmas Witch is very cool. Could she be a cousin of Frau Holle/Hel, who in some folk tales is said to ride through the skies with her wild hunt between Christmas and Jan. 6th?
