Currently enjoying the barmbrack season, toasted with lashing of Kerry Gold salted butter. Have not found the ring yet

I’d never have ate it toasted but can appreciate it.
I ate three pieces last Halloween and they all had rags in them.
Gonna have to try it toasted and buttered, sounds tasty!
Oh I love it. I just made a lovely loaf this morning and it’s so good! Left the fruit soak in tea & whiskey overnight. I only ever make it at Halloween, really should make it more often. And yeah, spread on a ridiculous amount of butter
Warm and loads of melty butter on it. And squishy raisins. Perfect.

You’ve inspired me to get baking. Brewing the tea now but could only find sultanas and goji berries – should be interesting.

The best thing about the lurch into winter. Big doorstop slices with loads of fruit and lashings of butter, washed down with a mug of tae.
Any supermarket doing a decent brack?
An entire loaf of it was eaten in my house today.
My 7 year old found the ring, and got upset because he thought it meant he had to get married tomorrow.
