Constitutional link with the United Kingdom William and Catherine then as the young future king and queen consort with the ideal representatives to visit the region and look forward but a visit that was intended to focus on biodiversity indigenous culture children and health were seen as backward looking and toned deaf and was

Often met with protests over Britain’s Colonial past and the Royal Family’s historic links to slavery touching down in Biz a country of just over 400,000 people and unique within Central America as a predominantly englishspeaking nation and as a commonwealth realm the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had asked that this

Prompted many in the country to ask why 40 years on from becoming independent the British monarch is still the head of state views tend to differ depending on the generation when I was 5 years old my mom used to tell us that when we hear the big Jetter coming that’s for the

Queen that’s what I know well if one day we could become more stable as a country country then it would be okay to become a republic though we are an independent country Nation but we still need help from the outer world and I think having

The queen still is a good thing for us in that capacity it was an altogether happier Affair later in the day William and Kate were treated to a welcome Festival in the Coastal Village of Hopkins the cultural center of the garuna people Kate’s dressed in the colors of the ban

Could have stayed longer a longer stay may have been more restful for William and Kate if there were questions over Britain’s past in bise they would be all the louder in Jamaica the gold saltire cross in Jamaica’s flag is to symbolize the sun which usually shines brightly over the island as in Biz Kate choice of dress was a nod to the nation’s colors but it was an ominously overcast day as the Duke and Duchess landed in Kingston just

A few miles away protests were taking place outside the British High commission as people demanded an apology for brison’s role in the slave trade Prince William I hope you feel ashamed in some sense I hope you feel remorse I hope you feel how could my ancestors do this to these people’s

‘Cordial and Contentious: William & Kate’s Caribbean Tour 2022’

In March 2022, the then-Duke and Duchess of Cambridge undertook a week-long tour of the Caribbean, taking in the nations of Belize, Jamaica, and the Bahamas.

All three recognise the British Monarch as their head of state.

Prince William and Catherine were well-received by many local men, women and children for engagements focused on culture, health, education, and the environment.

However, the tour to mark Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee was often met with angry protests in countries which still bear the scars of slavery, and are considering republican futures.

We look back at what went right and what went wrong on a Royal tour many described as “tone deaf”.

  1. Put-you-to-sleep Boring people.
    Long-live the Caribbean Republics.

There is no denying England's central role in African & Indigenous Slavery.

Since-1783 rule in Belize is too-long to stay.

And Jamaica offers an articulate reason for a Republic to replace Commonwealth.

    Independence. Like America did it.

  2. For how long are we going to refer to Catherine as Kate? Kate is a nick name. She has ascended in her royal status closer to the throne. Soon she will be queen!!! Common now, isn’t this a royal channel and you should know the royal status. To correct this, it’s Catherine, Princess of Wales!!! Not Kate. Give credit where it due. She has earned it.

  3. All that supposed 'contention' was primarily driven by Omid Scobie. Check out his tweets atbthe time. There was an agenda at play and media fell for it because journalism is dead.

  4. Oh yes the new year is approaching … ITV is really bad at maths 😂 (and naming things Christmas Competition that ban you from a trip during Xmas)

    Happy 2022 🎉🎉

  5. Catherine The Princess of Wales & Prince Of Wales we’re set up by his own brother & liar wife on this Caribbean tour.
Tom Bowers speaks about this BS in his book Revenge.
If Jamaica doesn’t want the Monarchy so be it don’t let the door hit you in your way out and don’t be asking for hand outs later on.
I’m not ever going to Holiday in Jamaica after how they AMBUSHED W&C.

  6. I have to wonder why this has come up a couple years later. IS
WME H&M paying for this BS.
These tactics have never worked before and will only put the nail in their coffin.
I’m guessing Jamaica has seen its tourism plummet and rightfully so. They were rude to the PPOW. 😡

  7. We are about to enter 2024 but we are getting video from march 2022. Way to go ITV.
Btw, the Jamaican's premier later said that William and Kate were very gracious and that they are always welcomed. He just wants republic, which is fair enough.
People should see how Dutch royals conducted their tour. If it was British royals, they would be crucified. But then, no other family in the world gets so much scrutiny, so much fake news and so much editing videos whose only purpose is to twist the truth.

  8. I want to say something but I won't. But what I will say is Kate Will remember a few simple lines on the most important day of his father's life and I bet he will see a version of this because I've hopefully got through perfectly sensible censorship.

  9. It isn’t possible to redo the past. An acknowledgment of it & sensitivity towards the outcome of it & ongoing awareness of the resentment borne by some individuals is all that can reasonably be expected of the present Royal Family members. I certainly think lessons were learned about what’s appropriate & what’s not. The bottom line is do these countries want to continue to benefit from association with the United Kingdom or don’t they. No one’s forcing them to. Entirely up to them. As for apologies & reparations, dream on. No ones about to offer me reparation for sending my convict ancestors here to Australia. Education is the key to self determination & economic & political stability. Being rude to people over what their ancestors may or may not have done serves no one any good.

  10. Here we go again, another video planted by the Sussex propaganda machine. We can smell the desperation from Cali all the way in the UK. Please do better ITV
