Maine becomes second US state to disqualify Trump from primary election ballot

January the 6th 2021 when an outgoing president Trump urged his supporters to we fight like hell and if you don’t fight like hell you’re not going to have a country anymore this amounted to Insurrection according to the Secretary of State for Maine and citing a rarely used Clause of the 14th Amendment she’s

Barred him from being on the ballot in the main Republican primary the process the state uses to choose its presidential candidates I’m mindful that no secretary of state has ever deprived a candidate of ballot access under section three of the 14th Amendment but no presidential candidate has ever engaged in an Insurrection the

East Coast State of Maine had received a number of challenges from voters asking them to Bar Trump from the primary ballot two of them former Republican state senators his own party but a fact is the man incited a riot on January 6th that’s what brought me to the table in a

Statement the Trump campaign said if anyone was being unamerican it was people like the main Secretary of State it reads Democrats in blue states are recklessly and unconstitutionally suspending the civil rights of the American voters by attempting to summarily remove president Trump’s name from the ballot Maine’s not the only

State to try and bar Trump from the republ Republican primary but only two have succeeded for the time being at least Maine and last week Colorado eight others as it happens both Democrat and Republican leaning have also looked at it but they all decided to keep his name

On thus leaving the decision with voters which one of Trump’s Republican Presidential Rivals agrees with this should be decided by the voters of the United States it should not be decided by courts um and fact is that while there may be um people may think there’s some justification for doing this it’s

Not good for our democracy in the end Donald Trump should be defeated by the voters at the polls and defeated by someone like me who’s willing to tell the truth about them this may however be wishful thinking because Trump is a shoe in for the Republican nomination if he

Is on that primary ballot which brings the federal Supreme Court into play for it is almost certainly they who now have to decide have Colorado and Maine acted within the Constitution with big implications for other states who may follow suit regardless of the specifics of Maine or Colorado these issues are

Going to keep coming because the plaintiffs are going all over the country claiming that Donald Trump is not eligible and until we get a definitive resolution from the US Supreme Court there’s going to be uh uncertainty and division within the states as to how to handle Trump power

In America as the high EST court in the land considers this the alleged Insurrection of a former president no less who’s determined to rule again

Maine has become the second state in the United States to disqualify Donald Trump from the primary election ballot – over his involvement in the January 6th attack on the US Capitol.

It follows a similar move by Colorado, although California has just ruled to keep Mr Trump’s name on the ballot there. It’s all putting pressure on the Supreme Court to weigh in.

  1. If any other country did this the Americans would be first to call it undemocratic, America is fallen, it is now officially a banana republic ruled by despots.

  2. Tbf, another 10 states could block Trump and he’d still beat Biden. I support neither, but the easiest way Trump will get another 4-year run in the White House is to put him up against Biden. It’s astonishing America (a country of 332 million) cannot do better than these 2 at this point.

  3. According to the betting markets, that Trump opponent, Christ Chisty or whatever his name is, is basically already out of the race. So is Vivec. Only Nikky Haley has a chance of beating Trump for the Republican leadership race.

  5. They're clutching at straws now, they've tried everything else and now resorting to this, Trump clearly said to protest peacefully, another anti Trump news report

  6. "Engaged in an insurrection" is a rather bizarre way to describe the incident which the FBI helped instigate. Why is it that a country which keeps talking about "democracy" wants to control who voters can choose from, specifically someone that many US citizens voted for before and plan to vote for again? Isn't it common sense that a popular candidate should be part of a democratic process?

  7. He's not even been found guilty of Insurrection this is just pure election interverence by Democrat courts. The US is a joke of a country now and so is channel 4 using sound bites from speeches and framing it. Shameful and to anyone watching still enthralled by legacy media you are a fool.

  8. Against Biden – I think Hitler would win.

The only riots incited where Democrats during BLM, With Harris actually stating, while laughing the riots won’t stop.

This is taking away voters rights to democracy, absolutely disgusting behaviour from democrats!!! Shameful and foul.

  9. Having now watched ALL the videos of the so-called insurrection I can't believe this is happening. In the beginning the popular press showed clips and stills of people clambering into the House in a chaotic and violent scene. When I saw all the footage I got the opposite impression. In fact it is notable that the violence (or the surge) was short lived. Almost as though most had been coerced in to doing it and then five minutes later calmed down and strolled through the House taking pictures etc. There were a couple groups that smashed into offices etc but the vast majority were placid. This pattern of crowd behaviour is consistent with over 30 FBI agents being planted in the crowd and egging them on, but once the majority of those people got out of earshot of the FBI agents they acted pecefully. Or am I completely misreading it?

  10. You just know Trump will get round this small obstacle maybe by a new candidate appearing mysteriously on the Election Ballot papers for a Mr Donald Strump
