This Christmas saw Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, invited back to Sandringham after decades away. Dressed in a festive green outfit, she accepted flowers from the public along her walk.

After a series of scandals, the Duchess has not been invited to Sandringham since 1991. So what is behind her return?

  12. I'm very happy to see Fergie back! Princess Beatrice is one of my favourite royals and she's become a real asset to the firm in recent years – it's obvious how much she loves her mother and I'm sure this meant a lot to her. Fergie has made some mistakes in the past, but they were never malicious in nature and she was very caring towards the Queen in her final years. King Charles is a good man – it says a lot about his kindness that he brought Fergie in from the cold after all these years ❤

  17. Good to see her! I hope one day I see Harry and Andrew with family again. Throw the first stone the family who never had troubles internally. Forgiveness is like a seed, as much as you water it, more you will receive it.

  18. Sorry guys but as things stand at the moment Prince Andrew is only guilty of continuing an unwise friendship. Until the original photo turns up (someone's got it) the picture of him with Virginia Giuffre at Ghillaine Maxwell's house is not admissible in court. My point is i was glad to see Sarah, Duchess of York at Sandringham.

  27. I was so excited to see Sarah with the family—forgiveness is a beautiful thing. Gives me hope that one day Harry, Archie and Lilibet will be walking to church with the family.

  30. Welcome back, Sarah. A 30 year banishment was unnecessarily long. Her daughters and Andrew must be very happy that she is allowed back into the family events.

  32. As many others have said before me, we are all all human beings here, and everyone makes mistakes, myself included, so who am i to cast any stones?? Fergie has done wrong, but atleast she has accepted responsibility for her actions. Welcome back into the royal fold, Sarah. I wish you all the very best of luck for the future.

  40. she said you're in or you're out and once yr out yr out and now she's back in so its possible at the end of the day monarchy is unity and the house of Windsor is not united William should put his pride to the side and be a good Christian and be forgiving as the lord and many should follow this path mercy and forgiveness is the way forward and certainly for the future head of the Anglican church the House of Windsor needs to be united again with the Sussexes. if everyone can see past Camilla being Queen they should be able to let their hate for the Duchess of Sussex go.
