Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has announced the date for the 2024 spring Budget, as the Conservatives scramble to appease voters with tax cuts ahead of the upcoming general election.

Mr Hunt confirmed on Wednesday morning that the government’s next major financial statement will be delivered on 6 March – likely its last before the country heads to the polls next year.

It comes amid a flurry of reports about measures Mr Hunt could introduce in the Budget in a bid to claw back voters currently polled to favour Sir Keir Starmer’s Labour Party by a margin of 20 per cent.

  1. TAX CUTS FOR THE ELECTION!!!
    TAX RISES AFTER THE ELECTION!!!!!
VOTE TORY TO CONTINUE THE HIGHEST TAXES IN DECADES!!!!
BUT NOT FOR FAT CAT TAX DODGING TORIES!!!!!
JUST MORE TORY LIES AND DECEPTION!!!!!

  2. I don't know why Sunak is gazing accross the aisle at Labour MP's for their reaction, HE won't be PM for much longer. Either he call's an early general election & give's the British Public the choice or the Tory power/money men will fire & replace him in a desperate last try to win back the goodwill & backing if the people… Niether seem's likely right now but 2024 HAS to see changes in Westminister.
At this current rate by the ebd of 2024 the UK will be nothing more than an outlying immigration processing centre

  3. The genuine ENGLISH born person is now a minority in his own country thanks to the poor management of the country by the conservative government, And it will get worse …A VERY SAD DAY FOR ENGLAND ,,,,,,2024 will not be a good year …..disappointed and it’s a disgrace for us the English tax payer ,,very sad indeed …

  4. I am an NHS NURSE and MOTHER struggling to survive and """I MATTER"""
Share I MATTER with your job and your struggle
and the politicians will have no choice but to listen as we are the people and WE MATTER.

  5. The last "sweetener" to the electorate to try save their skin…it won't work. No good putting hourly rate of living pay up if cost of living goes up by more…no point cutting taxes for the rich when it's the poor who struggle…pointless giving us extra when you take it back in taxes. Be prepared for the usual rubbish people.
