Japan Airlines fire: Passenger jet bursts into flames in Tokyo

A Japan Airlines passenger jet was engulfed in flames on the runway at Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport after reportedly being involved in a collision with another aircraft.

Security camera footage showed a ball of flames exploding into the night sky as the aircraft touched down.

JAL Flight 516 hit a smaller plane as it touched down, reportedly a turbo-prop Embraer DHC8-315 being operated by the Japan Coast Guard.

All 379 of the passengers and crew were safely evacuated.

  1. This would have been chaos in the United States. The crews would have been pros but American passengers would be all over the crushing and pushing

  2. I swear that was their first A350 as well. Sam Chui did a video on their inauguration just a few weeks ago. Horrible situation but apparently everyone evacuated safely which is good news.

  3. The relative calmness of the passengers helped them all exit the wreckage in a rapid and orderly fashion, ensuring that everyone was able to exit the plane alive.
Imagine the sheer terrible carnage that could have happened if this incident was to have happened in say the Middle East or africa.

  4. A tough plane to take a collision and survive long enough for everyone to evacuate.

RIP the Coast Guards, on their way to try to help others🙏

  5. It's only the second day of 2024 and already many disasters have struck Japan – the country I love😢.
Pray for Japan to be safe and not have any more disasters🙏🇯🇵

  6. Looks like landed with out landing gear and fire was cause due to friction with the ground and eventually fuel leak from the wings catching fire. Probably unable to extend landing gear due some technical problems.
