Ukraine hits Russia: Panic in Belgorod as retaliatory strikes hit city

Ukraine launched missile and drone attacks on the Russian border city of Belgorod overnight in an apparent retaliation for a string of aerial assaults by Moscow’s forces.

A number of drones and 12 missiles were shot down over Belgorod by anti-air defences, Russia’s defence ministry and governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.

The border city, situated about 20 miles from Ukraine’s north-eastern border, was also targeted in attacks on Saturday and Tuesday.

  1. Why is Ukraine fighting back against the occupying force? Israel told us that's evil.

Is Ukraine a terrorist state for fighting Russia when Russia just wants to defend itself from Ukraine taking back the territory that Russia took?

Will it become self defense if Russia holds that land for 75 years?

  2. This week ukraine officially stoped attacking the annexed land and decided to fortify their current positions… so in their shame they do this terrorist attack? Wtf!!

  3. It is IRRESPONSIBLE for any media to call what Ukraine does to defend itself "retaliation". They were attacked in 2014 and ever since they are DEFENDING THEIR LIVES . Period.

  4. So now Putin has to again go on TV to "avenge" attacks that weren't happening until he invaded Ukraine.

Now Russian news and social media will be carrying images of this attack – and it will not be lost on Russians that none of this was happening until Putin's special military operation.

Only the most brain-dead idiots wont understand that this is retaliation.

  5. The current hesitation of the U.S. House of Representatives to pass a bill supporting Ukraine is a moment laden with historical weight and moral implications. Drawing a parallel to World War II, one can't help but ponder the pivotal role that international support, especially from countries like the USA and Canada, played in bolstering Winston Churchill's Britain against overwhelming odds.
