Turkey claims ‘spies’ from Israel’s Mossad detained in apartment raids

Turkish police detained 34 people suspected of spying for Israel’s Mossad intelligence service and of targeting foreigners living in Turkey, a source from the National Intelligence Agency (MIT) said on Tuesday (January 2).

The MIT source said a total of 46 people with ties to Israeli intelligence were identified but some of them had gone abroad.

Police raided 57 locations in eight provinces as part of the investigation that targeted suspects believed to be aiming to identify, monitor, assault and kidnap foreign nationals living in Turkey, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said earlier on social media platform X.

  13. Turkey's riding a fine line here.Erdogan shouldn't forget who his REAL friends are. And his heart is in Nato. Part of Europe. Not the crazies in the Arab peninsular, still selling martyrdom to a bunch of fools.
    Turkey wants to be part of the 21rst century. There is no future for them, or ANYONE in the 6th.

  27. How is Türkiye a member of NATO when it more supports terrorist groups like Hamas and autocratic rulers like Putin. Why is someone like Erdogan permitted to dictate who should be a member of NATO or not when he supports those who are enemies of the West? Türkiye should have its NATO status overturned. 🇮🇱🇺🇸
