Breed under the dangerous dogs act it is now also illegal to breed sell or abandon the controversial dog an outright ban on the breed takes effect on the 1st of February but owners who want to keep their dogs must apply by midnight on the 31st of January to do so

Attacks by the breed have increased in number and severity over the past 2 years and a 52-year-old man was killed in September the government says the ban is essential to protect people from attacks by out ofcontrol dogs but animal rights campaigners say the law has been broughten too quickly and many owners

  1. to be honest, we really know this isn't the breed that caused the ban. It was the owners.
    I'd prefer laws, where you can't own specific (tougher) breeds. Until you have successfully owned other breeds first.
    Just that, would have solved so much
    These types of ban are a reflection of us today ..not the dogs

  2. Should be a total ban on all dangerous breeds except for service dogs. Licencing for all other dogs and all dogs need to be kept on leads at all times when outdoors.

  3. It not the breed of dog that is dangerous it the person raising/ training the dog that make the dog dangerous if you want to have less vicious dog pass a law that forces people to PROPERLY train and care for their pet or at least keep them out of the hands of people who are neglectful or train them to be violent.
