Well this is uh a very sad day um after 33 years of running Greens in Didsbury we’ve unfortunately had to close the door our landlords have increased our rent by on the region of 35% um the cost of raw materials the cost of heat light and power employing

People and general food costs have meant that the business unfortunately has become um unviable so with immediate effect we’ve unfortunately shut the door um it’s a heartbreaking day um I’d like to thank every single member of Staff that’s worked for us over the years every single customer that’s come

Through the door our amazing suppliers our neighbors our friends and anybody who has ever set foot inside the door um I can’t believe I’m actually doing this message um big love thank you for the last 33 years and hopefully we’ll see you in sale if not here lots of love

Sunday Brunch host Simon Rimmer says he is “heartbroken” as he announced the closure of his vegetarian restaurant after more than three decades.

The celebrity chef said it was “a sad day” as he took to social media to announce he was closing one of his Greens eateries in Didsbury.

He said he made the decision after landlords increased his rent by more than a third and costs rendered the business “unviable”.

He added: “I can’t believe I’m actually doing this message. Big love. Thank you for the last 33 years, and hopefully, we’ll see you in Sale, if not here. Lots of love.”
