Hana-Rawhiti Maipi-Clarke, 21, first spoke in parliament on 12 December, performing a traditional haka.

She is the youngest MP to be elected to New Zealand’s parliament in 170 years, after James Stuart-Wortley, who was elected in 1853 aged 20 years and 7 months.

Maipi-Clarke was emotional in the chamber as she said: “We have arrived. We are here. We are sailing. We are navigating, just like our ancestors once did, in the biggest ocean in the world.”

  1. Reject the cancer known as Abrahamic cults(esp Christianity and islam), be proud of your indigenous/native cultures, faiths…. practise them, teach your children to respect you ancestral cultures and practises…… love and live in tune with nature….. long live Non-Abrahamic cultural civilizations

  2. Does anyone remember when the Spice Girls were criticised for doing a Haka, quite a few years ago because we were told that it was not to be performed by women. Seems like they've changed the rules now!!!

  3. Це сильно, дуже вражаюче. Вона дійсно буде опікуватись своїм народом, їх інтересами, а не своїми особистими.

  4. I respect Maori struggle to preserve their culture and lang.

Being an India while in south i realized how language abuse.is against humanity since i was abused by south indian since my native tounge is Hindi.

Being a Native Indian i can identify with ur struggle.as.well.

    Kudos.
