Total of 21 quakes above 4.0 magnitude hit Japan • FRANCE 24 English

Um about probably about 20 minutes ago the Japanese prime minister prime minister Kisha had a press conference to talk about basically heed the warnings that have been announced by the Japan meteorological agency um one thing to remember is that um in the 2011 earthquake in tsunami in Japan about

20,000 people died or were ended up missing and most of those people were uh killed by the tsunami that washed and took out houses and also went further Inland up through rivers and of course uh Japan is well used as you mentioned that tsunami of 2021 dealing with earthquakes and

Tsunamis what kind of precautions and procedures are in place there okay so one of the things the lessons that they learned after 2011 was that people had been become kind of used to these sort of tsunami warnings and tsunami alerts and so people did not heed the warnings and so they’ve

Actually uh raised the level of warnings that they give and they they’ve given more detailed warnings and they’ve also um have like things this they’ve had this before but Sirens as well as um other announcements to announce them and also all the Japanese uh uh radio and also television stations including the

National broadcaster NHK they broadcast live all the the warnings and also where the areas that are going to be affected and so that’s been going on for the last over an hour so all the stations that’s all they’re talking about is the tsunami warnings and telling people to take heed

Of the if they’re warnings that the tsunamis are coming that they must evacuate otherwise their lives could be in danger finally James I mean it must be very difficult for the authorities there as you say they have this previous experience they’re already putting in those procedures in place to warn people

It’s difficult to see isn’t it where the balance comes and how bad things could be this time around right but from what I’ve seen I’ve been here in Japan for about 30 years um a 5 meter warning that’s actually quite large uh usually when you hear the tsunami warnings they’re talking about

Tsunamis that may be coming in you know at 30 cm or a meter but 5 meters I mean I haven’t heard anything like that uh probably since 2011 so that’s actually a very very um grave sign that you should heed the warning that if they’re talking about something that’s coming at 5 m

Because when that runs starts run running Inland it’s going to get higher and higher you know as it follows rivers or or streams or other sort of waterways

Japan issued tsunami alerts and told people to evacuate coastal areas after a series of strong quakes on its western coastline Monday. The Japan Meterological Agency reported quakes off the coast of Ishikawa and nearby prefectures shortly after 4 pm, one of them with a preliminary magnitude of 7.6. Japanese public broadcaster NHK TV warned torrents of water could reach as high as 5 metres (16.5 feet) and urged people to flee to high land or the top of a nearby building as quickly as possible. Tokyo-based journalist James Simms reports.

  1. Japanese government shut down all nuke power plants , so no train service , shut down all Hyways , and airports & no ferries ,Then tell the people to evacuate .
You have to wonder what the gov do for brains out there as it is the government telling them To evacuate.
water pipes ruptured ,No electricity unless you have a genny or off grid home battery & solar
If you had grid tied solar the system shuts down , If you have an EV you are not going to able to charge it up , if you have a heat pump its not going to work .

There are some lessons to be learned here when there is a flood !

  2. Rude awakening for humanity that Mother nature is in charge, and any given day we wake up in the morning, just be grateful we are still alive because you never know what tomorrow may bring . . .

  3. Praying ain't gona stop nature and specially around the ring of fire. Japanese people are educated in the area of seismology and know what to do when it comes to a major earthquake, like any country prone to earthquakes should also do but sadly doesn't.

  4. People living in Japan know that at any moment a massive earthquake can hit so they usually know what to do. But even at our most vigilant we can become complacent or distracted.

  5. Lee Family in China ordered earthquakes and chaos to happen offering to pay operatives to start chaos right after midnight NYE. Kim G, who has world's highest clearance, gave out list of cities they planned to strike two days prior. Yellowstone and LA were also on list.

  6. The 2011 earthquake/tsnami in Japan was a nuclear bomb under the waters blowing up the nuclear power plant. General Electric ordered the bomb because they did not want to pay for maintaince on power plant snd they wanted the insurance instead.

  7. Pray for japan..also sexual assult happens durng natural disaster if you believe it or not.I and my friends are victims. We had discussion about this topic today.Because this is kinda taboo here which shouldn't be.
