Fujitsu accepts it should help compensate Post Office victims
Just to zero in on this did staff in your organization before 2010 know that there were problems with the Horizon system so I believe that SN simple yes or no well I don’t I don’t personally know chair I think the inquiry is looking at that very point that you what’s your gut
Feel my gut feel would be yes okay so you’ve said that you’re an ethical company you’ve said that your evidence was used to put innocent people in prison you’ve said that staff in your organization knew that there were problems with the system can you tell us how much you now think your company
Should contribute to the compensation bill the inquiry is dealing with some very complex matters over is there a moral obligation Mr Patterson for you to contribute uh I think there is a moral obligation for the company to comp to contribute and I think the right place
To determine uh that is when our C our responsibility is very clear there are many parties involved in this um travesty but I’ve just read your last set of accounts which have been published you’ve not made any provision in those accounts for a contribution to the compensation but you’re telling the
Committee today that you believe there is at least a moral obligation for fitsu to contribute when the inquiry finishes that’s a simple yes or no well so is there a moral obligation for veget I’ve already answered I I already it’s okay you can keep going
Okay sorry um yes I believe there is a moral obligation and I’ve already I’ve already said that
Fujitsu’s Europe director, Paul Patterson, has admitted that his company – which developed the Horizon IT system – has a ‘moral obligation’ to contribute to financial redress for victims. Pressed by Labour MP Liam Byrne on compensation for victims, Patterson said: ‘I think there is a moral obligation for the company to contribute and I think the right place to determine that is when our responsibility is very clear. There are many parties involved in this travesty’.

Cancel there contracts if they knew
The guilty must be jailed the country has lost faith in the Justice system.
i'm sure fujitsu will be compensated for any losses due to compensation, i bet that was agreed before he went before the panel…
I'm betting that someone at jujitsu gets a knighthood soon, some knighthoods always go to the most dodgy elite
At last down to the truth. Who pays and how much. First claw back bonuses ( no chance). Then fine every exec and politican who represented victims who did nothing ( no
Chance) then take all compensation from tax payers ( every chance)
What a giant heap of 💩
Too little too late
Tony Blair should be accountable too he signed the deal and took the envelopes
Is the government responsible for the continuous failings in losing billions if not trillions of the tax payers money
Fujitsu should compensate fully the people they caused injury to! No taxpayer money should be spent on this. Royal Mail are not at fault here. Fujitsu should be made to take full responsibility as well as make massive payouts to everyone who lost their businesses and were wrongfully accused!
They wouldn't have offered compensation only now after being scrutinized in public.
After all Fujitsu are the main cause of all this mis justice along with the Post Office
ALLO. FUJITSU HA UN ASSET AL 2022 DI 3.400 TRILIONI…..!! CHE IL GIAPPONE PAGHI CON GLI INTERESSI.
Any amount of financial compensation, whilst much needed and justly so, will never atone for the great suffering and humiliation if the victims concerned. It would be just and proper to jail the main people responsible for this fiasco.
I can’t fathom why Post decided to pursue people criminally and people ended up in prison. How could Post decide that many postmasters were systematically start stealing en mass from Post? Was there a history of this before? Sending people to jail for a software bug out of their control seems to actually be a failing in the police and legal system in the UK. Where was the evidence? Was the money found in their personal accounts or spending? Where did the proceeds of crime end up.m? Trying to blame Fujitsu seems to be along the lines of the same problem again. Yes they were responsible for the buggy software but the police, government and legal system in the UK is ultimately what caused these people to end up in prison or having their lives ruined. It appears this seems to now look a bit like a witch hunt which was the problem to begin with. Horrible state of affairs and really troubling on an international scale. A dark day for the UK.
If there was no scandal, no public outcry, no media attention, Fujitsu would still be silent. Fujitsu would still be denying anything was wrong with their systems along with the Post Office.
Confess you messed up and sort out the people you have betrayed..they you can be sent to court and perhaps sentenced to some time in jail.
Fujitsu accepts 'moral obligation' to compensate Post Office victims. LONDON — A Fujitsu executive said on Tuesday that the company had a "moral obligation" to contribute to compensation for hundreds of post office operators in the U.K. who were wrongly prosecuted based on evidence from faulty software it provided

Isn't it the UK's fault, not Fujitsu's?
Rather than blaming Fujitsu alone, the higher ups at the UK Post Office, judges and lawyers are more to blame.
