The NHS nurse fighting to be heard #shorts #news
You know that’s my career everything I’ve ever worked for I feel like I’m the one that people are avoiding um I’m the one that’s excluded uh feels like I’m the one that’s done something wrong it shouldn’t have to cost me my career but if that’s what it
Costs I’m going to have to deal with that in 2015 NHS nurse Michelle Russell took her first steps to report claims of sexual assault and harassment by a colleague to her employer Michelle thought her case would be investigated and dealt with immediately however 8 years later she’s
Still fighting for her voice to be heard by the UK’s nursing regulator the nursing and M wiffy Council I mean it’s nearly a decade of my life it’s absolutely obliterated my career all I’d ever wanted to be was a nurse
An NHS nurse has waived her anonymity to speak out about the treatment her claims of sexual harassment and assault were met with by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
In an exclusive report, Rebecca Thomas reveals how Michelle Russell has had to battle over eight years for her allegations to be addressed and how some NHS workers are finding it difficult to report issues at work.

What is wrong with NHS staff? This keeps happening. Report crimes to the police, not your boss. This doesn't happen in any other industry.
Things are as they are in a workplace culture because good people and ruthless players have reached that point of equilibrium. Shifting it is so much more difficult than it should be. Managers would too often rather ignore/ blame the truth teller. When paying the price for speaking up, it may help to remember that truth is disruptive and often unwelcome. In fact a god who self defined as Truth was crucified. All you can do is to live by your values.
