Here is the list if you are curious:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urbanization_by_country
As you can see, a huge proportion of the microstates of the world are hovering around 100%, which is why I was very surprised to see that Liechtenstein was so rural (which I think is great by the way, so please don’t think I’m criticizing 🙂 )
Anyways I was a little suspicious of the list because it states at the top that this is determined by the definition of each country on the list (which I take to mean that countries could have very different definitions of “urban”)
So I wanted to ask people who live in Liechtenstein if that was true
Thanks so much for any information

14.4% sounds a lot like the population of Vaduz, the capital. I suspect that they’re counting Vaduz as a city because it’s the capital and what else can a capital be other than a city? Lol nope – to clarify, Vaduz is more of a village, I guess you could call it a small town in a stretch, but a lot of it is indeed quite rural. It is neither drastically more nor less urbanised than any of the other 10 municipalities.
You will probably get a better picture by going to google images honestly, but I think it’s fair to say 0% of the population lives in anything that can truly be defined as a city 🙂
“cities”
Im from Liechtenstein and we dont have something like big cities we have little villages and those are probably the 14.4% there is of course the capital Vaduz and its very little and you cant really say its a city but bigger villages. In Liechtenstein there are a lot of farmers too or people that live further away from the big populatet places.
Well propably when you have only two cities with over 5k citizens
